NIC in consultation
with the office of the CGA has developed a comprehensive software
which covers most of the functions of a Pay and Accounts Office.
COMPACT software uses Windows environment and is a user friendly
system based on the client-server architecture. Functionally the
software has six modules i.e. Pre-check, Compilation, Budget, GPF,
Pension and Masters. This software captures data at bill entry stage.
The required hardware
and software were produced for all the 47 PAOs under CBEC. All the
Pay and Accounts Offices have completed site preparations and installed
hardware and LAN. The implementation of the software is at different
stages, most of the PAOs have reached the stage of parallel run
with the help and assistance of the Vendor Technical Support assigned
by the Office of the Controller General of Accounts.
