ELECTRONIC DEPARTMENTAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (EDECS)

The Directorate of Systems, CBEC has launched an internet based communication system which is restricted to a closed user group (i.e., only the listed offices under CBEC). This system is designed to overcome the difficulties faced in official use of e-mail communication. The accounting organization under Pr. CCA, CBEC is also a part of the system. Most of the Pay and Accounts Offices have logged on to the EDECS and it is expected to have regular communication between the Pr. CCAs office and the dispersed Pay and Accounts Offices through the EDECS very soon (Oct 2003). A Local Area Networking already exists in the O/o the Pr. CCA and it is proposed to provide internet connectivity to selected sections on a shared basis to allow smooth and fast communication with the field Pay and Accounts Offices.
