Monthly Mgmt Report & Flash Figures

The revenue collections by the Department play a major role in financing of the Central Goverments' budget. Daily collections of customs and excise duties affect the level of deficit financing to be undertaken by the Government and thus data regarding these receipts becomes very valuable. The receipts' figures provided by the office of the Pr.CCA are therefore of immense utility since they reflect the actual position of the receipts which have been accounted for by the Reserve Bank of India. Flash Figures of the Revenue Receipts are therefore compiled by the office and are sent every fortnight to the Secretary (Revenue/Expenditure) Central Board of Excise and Customs to give an indication of the trend in revenue receipts in terms of actual cash inflow in government accounts. The monthly flash figures are accompanied by the analysis of receipts against Budget estimates and the corresponding receipts and Revised Estimates of the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

These Flash Figures and related reports are essential management inputs as they reflect the realistic Cash balance of the Govt. of India as far as CBEC receipts are concerned. Since the actual compilation of accounts for hundreds of ranges spread all over India is very time consuming, these Flash Figures present reliable estimates of the actual collections by the Public sector Bank during the first fortnight and the whole month.
