ACHIEVEMENT OF THE "ONE BANK ONE COMMISSIONERATE" SCHEME

The delay in crediting CBEC revenues to Government Account has been drastically brought down as can be seen from the following figures:

Years %age of Delay
Prior to One Bank-One Commissionerate (1982 to 85) 13.00
1996-97 9.01 **
1997-98 6.39 **
1998-99 6.08 **
1999-2000 4.46 **
2000-01 4.72 **
2001-2002 2.54 **
2002-2003 1.97

**From April 96, the percentage delay has been calculated by taking the admissible period of transit for local branches as 5 days and for outstation branches as 9 days from date of remittance of CBEC revenue at the receiving branch to the date of credit of the same to Govt. Accounts at Reserve Bank of India, Central Accouts Section, Nagpur.

Stringent measures have been taken to reduce the delay in remittance of revenue to Government Account with RBI. Trend depicted in Graph-Year wise percentage delay.
