REVCON SOFTWARE

Considerable difficulties have been noticed in the reconciliation of the revenue receipts between the department and the PAOs. Due to the ever increasing number of challans (due to introduction of new services under service tax) it has become difficult to reconcile the receipts even with the help of computers in the absence of proper software through which the reconciliation is made easy and complete. NIC, taking into account these facts, has developed a module in their departmental software for the use of CAOs office, named Revenue Reconciliation (REVCON). This software allows the CAO to incorporate the details electronically received from PAO (the output of REVACT (VB)), match the details and generate reports based on the number of matches from the six key fields i.e., Challan number, Date of Deposit, Account Head , Bank Code and Amount. This software is expected to be implemented in all Central Excise Commissionerate shortly.
