Central Excise Receipts

Union Excise Duties are collected country wide by 129 Commissionerates of Central Excise headed by Commissioners of Central Excise. The commissionerate is further divided into 'Divisions' headed by Deputy/Asstt.Commissioners of Central Excise. A Division comprises a number of 'Ranges', each of which is headed by Superintendents of Central Excise known as 'Range Officers'. The assesses make payment of all duties into the Branch of the Nominated Public Sector Bank located within the Commissionerate exercising jurisdiction over it, through TR-6 Challans by means of Cash/Cheque/Pay Order etc.
